Great minds have purposes, others have wishes. Washington Irving First you write down your goal; your second job is to break down your goal into a series of steps, beginning with steps which are absurdly easy. Fitzhugh Dodson Planning ahead is a measure of class. The rich and even the middle class plan for future generations, but the poor can plan ahead only a few weeks or days. Gloria Steinem One worthwhile task carried to a successful conclusion is better than half-a-hundred half-finished tasks. B. C. Forbes All you have to do is know where you're going. The answers will come to you of their own accord. Earl Nightingale Learn from the past, plan for the future, and live in the present. Duane Alan Hahn (I may not have been the first person to string these words together. If you have seen this quote before, please let me know.) There is no achievement without goals. Robert J. Mckain The capabilities of the human mind are enormous. There is usually no inherent reason you cannot accomplish whatever goal you set for yourself. Michael J. Mccarthy The biggest things are often the easiest to do because there is so little competition. William Van Horne A goal is a dream with a deadline. Napoleon Hill It takes time to save time. Joe Taylor Concentrate on finding your goal, then concentrate on reaching it. Michael Friedsam Set your target and keep trying until you reach it. Napoleon Hill Goals allow you to control the direction of change in your favor. Brian Tracy I determined never to stop until I had come to the end and achieved my purpose. David Livingstone You cannot expect to achieve new goals or move beyond your present circumstances unless you change. Les Brown I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination. Jimmy Dean It's never too late to start planning for the future. Unknown You need to overcome the tug of people against you as you reach for high goals. George S. Patton Arriving at one goal is the starting point to another. Fyodor Dostoevski The major reason for setting a goal is for what it makes of you to accomplish it. What it makes of you will always be the far greater value than what you get. Jim Rohn Picture yourself in your minds eye as having already achieved this goal. See yourself doing the things you'll be doing when you've reached your goal. Earl Nightingale You must have long term goals to keep you from being frustrated by short term failures. Charles C. Noble Give me a stock clerk with a goal and I'll give you a man who will make history. Give me a man with no goals and I'll give you a stock clerk. J. C. Penney Give a man health and a course to steer; and he'll never stop to trouble about whether he's happy or not. George Bernard Shaw A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder. Thomas Carlyle The path of least resistance is the path of the loser. Phil Weltman Goals that are not written down are just wishes. Unknown It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan. Eleanor Roosevelt Wishing is mental masturbation. It might feel good, but it accomplishes nothing. Duane Alan Hahn

Law of Attraction vs Law of Awareness
Explains why bad things happen to 'good' people and what they can do to change it. Just having a good attitude is not enough. Experience shows that negative possibilities manifest when we least expect them, and that anticipating them is what actually keeps them from happening. So how can focusing on negative possibilities attract them in one case, and prevent them in another? That is the paradox to address in this article.
One must replace fear, worry, and doubt with courage, faith, and confidence regardless of prior negative patterns of experience.
Attention freezes the object of attention, so restlessly anticipating something will put it off. This is simple quantum mechanics. The sooner you think about something else the sooner reality can get to work. Anticipation kills the future – it is better to have doubt than to anticipate, it is better to have patience than doubt, and there is no easier way to be patient than keeping yourself busy with other things.
Awareness/anticipation repels, ignorance/denial allows, and intent/emotional resonance attracts.
